    優點:機械密封設有由彈性元件、鋪助密封圓等構成的軸向磨損補償機構，因此其泄漏量極小；壽命長，一般為1~2年:對抽的摩擦小；可自動運行而不需在運行時調正；功率損失小，只有填料密封的1/3-1/10,耐振動性好；使用廣泛；目前轉速可達17000r/min，壓力達到30MPa。
    缺點:零件多，精度高，相應造價高；由于動密封面垂直于旋轉軸線，所以安裝時的對中非常重要。
